Re: Atheist

It really is as simple as that. Ok. Except when you try to answer the question in my quote. Although it's being somewhat facetious, it does have a serious side to it also: How can I not believe in something which doesn't exist? You don't. What you are rejecting is an entity in which others believe....

Re: Atheist

To my way of thinking, it's all fairly straightforward. If you believe in the existence of a deity, you are a theist. If you don't believe in the existence of a deity, you are an atheist. If you think a deity might exist but are not totally convinced, while accepting that a deity might also not exis...

Re: Cormac Murphy-O'Connor at it again: atheism "greatest evil"

What a bunch of loonies these guys are. I have no doubt that they'd string us all up if they got half a chance - the inquisition revisited. A few years ago, I went to a catholic (the faith of my youth) church for a confirmation ceremony. Occupying the inside of a pew and with empty space between me ...

William Zantzinger is dead

For over a month now, actually, and he would never have been known to me and, probably, a whole lot of others outside his immediate community were it not for the fact that he was immortalised in song by Bob Dylan following his killing of a 51-year-old black woman in a Baltimore hotel in 1963. http:/...

Re: Shopping in the north

Not only is it unpatriotic, It's treason. The same people who do this will be the first to complain that the Government are useless. It's hyprocrital bullshit at it's best. This country has gone down the drain. Difficult to see the reason in that. The same supermarkets that want us to do our patrio...

Re: De-Baptism

It is clear from 'canon law' that only the Church can excommunicate you - you can't excommunicate yourself! Honest. In the eyes of the Lord Ratzinger - once a Catholic, forever a Catholic. Unless He decides differently. Well, he can go fuck himself, as I'm sure he frequently does. But we can play t...

Now, we need to talk colours .... pink and red...not so much.
I want one.
Suggest you let Ygern sort out the colours and bang one in the post to me. Actually, make it two, a large and a medium. Let me know the cost and how you would like to be paid.

Re: 20 Reasons to abandon Christianity

20 Reasons to abandon Christianity 20 good reasons, but I want to add one more. When I was going to school, they told us that superstition was about believing things like "Magpies - one for sorrow, two for joy." Overuse of the imagination, in other words. And then they expect us to believe in an im...

Re: Has God Logged Off?

But would be willing to listen to you why you think I should be, and why I would be better of being, an atheist. Sorry Patrick, I was taking the piss there. I really wouldn't try too hard to bring anyone to my religious viewpoint. I would suggest, though, that you have a read of The God Delusion by...

I go along with that.
