Woman calls for Catholics to Boycott Mass

Hi , Just heard on the news this morning that an 80 something year old woman is calling on Catholics to boycott mass I think on the 26th Sept to show the Church that it is not acceptable to treat women the way they do. She said something along the lines that the Church think women are good enough to...

Re: Volcano ash spreads flight chaos

I don't know about you but I can't help but correct people by saying 'Natural disaster' when they refer to the volcano errupting as 'An act of god'.

Re: What if I'm wrong?

Before I sign off, just thought of something I could share, check this out, One more example, Lets say a Christian is praying for help with something, to GOD, they do not know where to turn or who to trust to resolve a problem, then all of a sudden 1 day or 2 days later they meet another Christian,...

Re: What if I'm wrong?

Even if by some wildly mad occurance where there was proof that any one god was real and demanded we follow the rules of that religion 'I'd say no thanks I'll take the alternative' because, like bockedy, I wouldn't want a god or afterlife that demanded me to give up my free thinking and carry out mi...

Re: Aliens

I read this book years ago by Claud Rael about Elohim (the original Hebrew word for God, but it's a plural word). He was on the Late Late Show some years back and, I need to be subtle here, he was interesting . Did anyone else see it? Basically he believes that the Elohim are like aliens who have al...

Absolutely fantastic, I love it, well done for thinking so swiftly.

Re: Please, can I make my first Communion?

This has been on my mind lately as we're looking at buying a house in the countryside which has a good, small school within walking distance, Catholic, or we can go to the town around 10 miles away with overcrowded classrooms, non denominational. So what is best? Make friends with the local kids, be...

Re: 'And now Father Pat will say a few words'

While everyone else has their heads bowed in prayer, you could jump on the table and re-enact that scene from The Exorcist. That's so funny! I can imagine my Aunt looking on in disgust! I've grappled with that too, and I've decided to just wait for the Catholics to have their moment, sorry sa...

Re: Did you ever believe in God?

I suppose I did believe what I was taught, do you remember when the priest came into the classroom to test us on our knowledge of the questions- ie ''what is the holy spirit?;; answer, ''the holy spirit is...'' ''what is original sin?'' ans, ''original sin is...''- When I think of it now it is so br...

Are we alone in the Universe?

Hope this hasn't already been discussed Logically I don't believe there is a god, and logically I dont believe we are alone in the Universe. If the right atmosphere, chemicals, gases, heat, etc all came together as and when they did to create our planet, then surely something similar happened or is ...
