Retrospective determinism? – arguing that because some event has occurred (acting the maggot and surviving) , its occurrence must have been inevitable beforehand (i.e. a god was looking out for them).

Dia dhuit is quite formal, the likes of conas atá tú is more common in practice (even though that means how are you rather than hello), in the Gaeltacht it's also common to hear people just say hi (I've seen it spelt 'haigh' on some occassions). On the whole I wouldn't be too concerned with the god ...

In all honesty a lot of the posts on there wouldn't endear an outsider to A.I. There is one guy on there in particular who just seems to use the forum to vent bile at the RCC with most of threads being random spouts rather than taking issue with particular topics/issues. I rarely go on there anymore...

From what I can see that popularity of forums like this has declined across the board, others I have used for years in the areas of music, football etc have all died a death over the past few years.
