Re: IONA Institute launches ad campaign

Now this guys is talking sense. This is what I've been waiting to hear on these boards for some time now. Meremortal, Atheist Ireland already has campaigns running for quite a long time both regarding getting the Blasphemy law removed & getting the census form adjusted. A response to IONA is just a...

Re: IONA Institute launches ad campaign

I doubt a knee jerk reaction to the bus shelter campaign would be productive or cost effective . We should be seen as active and organised rather than petty and re-active.We are out numbered out financed and unorganized, the first thing we should do is to organised ourselves and set achievable goals...

Guys and gals, I've been bowled over so many times by the rape and torture of children by the catholic church scandal that I really wanted to write down the line of things as they have happened since the Murphy report. 1. The report comes out. 2. The bishops refuse to resign. 3. The church actually ...

A request...

Guys and gals, There is something that has been really bothering me for the last few months that I thought I should point out. I have become increasingly annoyed at the insistence of the media to relegate the rape and torture of children by the priests into one non-specific, easy little word: "abuse...

Re: Irish Atheist Ad bus run poll.

How about this on the side of a bus... "It wasn't a secular society that covered up church abuse" Excellent slogan - would look good on a poster/flyer as well . or variations thereof -depending on the emphasis "It wasn't a secular society that covered up child abuse" "It wasn't a secular society th...

Re: Irish Atheist Ad bus run poll.

How about this on the side of a bus... "It wasn't a secular society that covered up church abuse" I like it, but I would prefer something that uses more positive language. Personally I like the ads that were in Iowa "Don't believe in god? You are not alone" http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32418140/ Of ...

Re: Irish Atheist Ad bus run poll.

I said Irish websites, and in this day and technological age, you cannot get more 'local' than that, and if the 'foreign' world see them, well then all the better. I'm not trying to put myself up on a pedestal or anything, I just think it is a good idea, and maybe it could be run in conjuntion with...

Re: Irish Atheist Ad bus run poll.

a local campaign as our target is local Local to whom? Local to Ireland. By making it local to our country we by default make a statement about the Irish view. How there is a growing, vocal and reason driven answer to the snake-oil salesmen. We also show that Atheists are no longer afraid to stand ...
