Re: Atheism Religion and intelligence!

Yes I did the Mensa test but no joy!...... My wife is a Mensa member and invited me along to the Mensa games gathering (an annual event). I had one of those rare moments of 'cleverness' and took charge of our group on a practical task. Our group won!!!!...... Due to me and my slightly below average ...

Probably some of the most important 'compositions' I have ever read as I am beginning to feel at home on our forum..... Interestingly I have worried about dying from a very youn...

Re: Atheism Religion and intelligence!

I am now convinced that there is no afterlife and as such am scared beepless of dying! This is the only drawback to my Atheism. Is there any way of coming to terms with this as I am wasting valuable time on this precious planet worrying about leaving it!! Probably another good reason why billions ho...

Re: Atheism Religion and intelligence!

Some very valid points! Cheers for your replies chaps. I must check out this Philip Pullman authour. Am I to understand that you still belive in an afterlife?... It seems to me that we are just water/carbon molecules and just as important as any other life form in the universe/multiverse. I guess if...

Atheism Religion and intelligence!

Just recently my atheism was shaken by the fact that several good friends/family who have much higher IQs than little old me are God fearing Christians. Indeed one particular individual continually beats me at chess. This may sound trivial, however it has been bugging me lately!..... How come much m...

Re: Junior Certificate Religeous Education Exam

I was very surprised to read this myself!........ The main point of contact between science and religion is that both accept that there is order and design in the universe. The world is just too complicated and too beautiful to have happened merely by chance. Take for example the human eye. The eye ...

Re: Ed byrne joins census campaign.

I am surprised to hear that he might label himself in the face of 'opposition' ... I could never ever label myself with any religion or belief in something that there was absolutely no evidence for what so ever. That said I liked what he said in general... When applying for jobs in Northern Ireland ...

Re: Local meeting in the north east?

I have just ordered a scarlet 'A'

I wonder just how many folk will ask me what it actually means!..... looks like your average charity pin.

Nice though and will be worn with pride!...

Should come in handy for group meets.

I’m in the North East - Ardee, Jon’s in Drogheda, Irish Shaman is Dundalk/Newry. The Count Me Out folks are from Dundalk as well (I think). The Facebook page usually sends out an invite to pub events. https://www.facebook.com/AtheistIreland .You can get a scarlet A from RDF http://store.richarddawk...
