Re: theory of evolution - informative and energetic article

Hey markg, I happened across this video that you might like, it goes over evolution, what it is, what it isn't etc. It is ten minutes long but really worth a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vss1VKN2rf8 Also, you appear to only provide links to sites about evolution and asking us to comment on t...

Re: Evolution article at American Wiki

"The genetic fallacy is committed when an idea is either accepted or rejected because of its source, rather than its merit." Are you markg doing the same when it comes to using conservapedia as your source. Anyway, moving on. I am in the middle of exam time so (much like the fossil record :P) my pos...

Re: Trouble looms for State over schools' religious ethos

I'm happy to see that the UN is stepping in. Might be a good thing for the eduction group have a look at. Perhaps one or two of them go to that conference. The article also talks about Ireland not upholding Article 26, "Equality before the law". Not much information about it in the article, would be...

Re: Is time precious to you?

Personally, I found becoming an atheist a release if you will. Because there is no afterlife, I found myself doing al lot more. Getting interested in almost everything and anything. Getting involved in different clubs and socs. I know the probability of me being here and by jove it is very low, as I...

Sorry, couldn't help meself

I really think that stuff like this hurts the church more than we can ever do. I'm not one who wants to see the church become stronger or whatever, but where is their PRO when they come out with stuff like this?!

Seeing as I know a few of us on the board have been baptised what do you make of the above?

Re: Is baptising babies a breach of human rights?

As a debater, rights are a very hard thing to talk about. Most people think "Oh I have the right to this or that" but why you ask yourself were that right comes from most people fail. There is only true right and that is the right to life. Everything else is a plus... To say baptising a child is a b...

Personally I see it as their day. As such if they want me to be godfather or do what ever it is fine with me. Words are just words if you don't believe what you are saying...

Can I suggest Café Bar Deli? It's a rather good place to get some food then we can chat about this whole atheist business. I don't really see the need to hire a room when we can go somewhere for free...tho I can see the point about distractions... What about a uni? On Sundays UCD is as full as an em...

It would be far more effective to channel any donations for any kind of advertising campaign through an organisation with charitable status. It takes a lot of time and effort for a non-religious organisation to apply for charitable status and I'd imagine the org would need to be established for som...
