Re: Any one else affected by the economic downturn?

There haven't been redundancies where I work, but some people have secured other jobs, and they're not being replaces.
That, and my department's taken on more work and seems to be much busier than 6 months ago, but we're effectively one person short, and with one person in training.

Re: Should we change the Irish flag, what does it really mean.

Yes, oráiste is the Irish word for the orange fruit. But my point was that there is no Irish word for the colour orange. A little bit late replying here, but after attending two very well known "scoileanna lán-Gaelach", I grew up learning that oráiste is the word for both the fruit and the colour, ...

And do you have similarly minded people in other colleges/universities who might be able to follow your lead in time?

Re: Re:

do you not realise that you are preaching to the unconvertible? Personally, godlessness has brought me great, great happiness, peace and understanding. It would be very selfish of me not to share all that with the rest of the world so I'm offering it up. Think about it. When you say unconvertible, ...

Re: Bus slogan

On a slightly related note... has anyone seen these new advertisements in bus shelters? They say "Direct Line To God" and a phone number against a cloudy blue background. I noticed one yesterday in Windy Arbour and another one today in Templeogue. I'll try and get a photo up soon. I know religious ...

Re: any Irish speakers?

Aindiachaithe na hÉireann is ainm oriann! Go raibh maith agat as sin - níor smaoinigh mé ar cén teideal a bhéadh orainn. The problem with Irish, for me, is the inability of our educational system to teach it. I mo thuairim, tá an lucht ar an Roinn Oideachas, de bharr an slí ina múintear an teanga, ...

You can see it tonight in the south at 5:58pm. Again, in the south.
Does it not say in it how to unsubscribe?
Normally you just reply saying STOP or UNSUB, and it should quit.

Re: Angelus

Actually, I just realised last night that I don't watch RTE (well, maybe once in the blue moon), nor do I pay for a TV licence... Can I still object to the fact that the national broadcasting company is showing preference (statue of mary in the current angelus, the bells themselves, and the timing) ...
