Dutch growers who bred the vegetable to grow in the colours of the House of Orange.
I don't think this qualifies as Genetically Modified, that's like saying my English Bull Terrier, bred over many years by mixing the English Terrier, the Bulldog, and the Dalmatian is Genetically Modified.
