As one who received his theological education at the hands (literally and metaphorically) of the Christian Brothers, I have had a lifelong question that I would love answered. The Catholic 'demonstration of strength' (as Diarmuid Martin called it) clashes with Ireland's opening match with Croatia.
We'll just have to cancel the match.

At the end of the day Ireland is a small country (just like the Netherlands) and we just have to do as the big countries tell us

Something similar for me but in reverse order. When I see the financial oligarchy and their political hirelings lining up to tell me to do something, I do the opposite. I feel more comfortable being on the side of those struggling with mortgages, bank loans, the unemployed, the underdogs. The tripar...

I wonder how many EU countries still have official ties between a religion and state. I imagine all the republics don't and the monarchies do.
