Re: Paul - With Simon Pegg and his fat sidekick

We could, but the law (called the Large Numbers Law) says that as the number of 'trials' increases, the average value obtained should approach the expected value. Bernoulli called it so trivial that everyone can understand it, but it's a little bit mind boggling. If we did a number of 'trials', in ...

Re: Paul - With Simon Pegg and his fat sidekick

I haven't watched anything on The Escapist other than Zero Punctuation, but I might check him out. :D Aside from Movie Bob and Yatzhee i also watch Extra Credit. It provides some interesting insight on gaming industry as a whole, and i need to say that i agree with every point they make about games...

Re: Paul - With Simon Pegg and his fat sidekick

I watched a review of "Paul" by MovieBob. He is really funny and quite intelligent fellow so i always watch whatever stuff he posts http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/2927-Paul Under that review there is a comment section and exactly like i predicted only few people the...

Re: Paul - With Simon Pegg and his fat sidekick

On more than one occasion in his books he speaks of the plausibility of alien life. Sometimes his words are poorly chosen imo. For instance, in Blind Watchmaker (IIRC) he says that an advanced alien race could have technology and knowledge indistinguishable from what we would call Gods. He then goe...

Re: Paul - With Simon Pegg and his fat sidekick

The offensive bits involve a fundamentalist Christian who basically spews the typical anti-Darwin nonsense, only to be faced with a rebuttal from the title character. I was reading opinions about this movie on polish website www.Filmweb.pl. According to some Christian lady there, evolutionists beli...

Paul - With Simon Pegg and his fat sidekick

Have anyone here seen movie "Paul"?
From what i heard many Christians are offended by it.
Something about making fun of God, Fundies and most
of all the ID movement (creationists).
I had seen the trailer and it seems like nothing too controversial.

Re: A scientific dissent from Darwinism

You use Darwin as a nick! Why would an Atheist nickname himself after a devote catholic :) Firstly: herself Secondly: Darwin was baptised Anglican Thirdly: He renounced religous belief towards the end of his life From his 1876 autobiography: “Formerly I was led... to the firm conviction of the exis...
