I think this threat that we in some way would be 'blackballed' by the EU in the event of rejection is OTT and is a tactic which is again being used by the yes campaign. Thanks Celtic Atheist but can you explain how rejection would damage our economy. Economists keep telling us that our main markets are the UK and US. Rejection of Reform would still retain all rights enjoyed due to our existing treaties. How then can rejection endanger our trade within the EU ?

Thanks Irish Knight for your assistance on the matter but I'm still confused about that clause: how can you have a simplified self-amending procedure for future treaties and yet we still retain our constitutional requirement for a referendum?
