This is part one in a series called deconversion 2.0. It follows 2.1, 2.2 etc so you guys can watch the rest without me posting it up. I highly recommend this series by the third or fourth video you will be hooked, its simply beautiful, pure art culminating in the final section of the series atheism 3.0 which is amazing. This is the best atheism series on YouTube i my opinion.

Thanks for the link mrodub and welcome. These videos are great and make some really interesting points. I have to say though that my own personal preference is for John Boswell's Symphony of Science project

It's as close as I come to what you could call evangelisation but I encourage everyone to watch these videos. Neil deGrasse Tyson sums up the series best:

"If you're scientifically literate the world looks very different to you and that understanding empowers you."

Edit: Can somebody please explain why the youtube BBCode isn't working?

+100 Have the MP3 versions downloaded to my phone so I can listen to them when I'm out and about. Part of me sayes that science is a tool and we shouldn't get emotionally about it, but they are fantastic awe inspiring pieces. Passionate about science is OK though  that's my excuse.

Glad you are enjoying them. I takes a few episodes to get into it but once he gets past defining his terms it is excellent. I like it because it really works when showing it to Christians. He is less militant than i am but i suppose this is a good thing as he makes inroads that i cannot. This is mainly due to the fact that i find the claims so absurd i find it difficult not to mock them for saying such silly things or alternatively I find their views so incompatible with human decency it angers me. Either way I find it hard to empathise on the same level he does. Of course I deal with more militant Christians and Muslims than I do with moderate ones by my own volition so we deal with too different groups in many respects.
When he gets to the final section on atheism it is superb, he annihilates the bible as any form legitimate or divinely inspired text.

As someone who didn't undergo anything close to the indoctrination and social pressures of this man, I have nothing but admiration for people like him.

I'm not certain I'd have the strength of character to continue such a relentless and painful inquiry into the best possible understanding of reality.
