Youth Defence Posters

Post by eoinyk1 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 6:45 pm

Has anybody here seen those horrible posters put up by Youth Defence... I've seen two already today and I live in Tipperary. Just found out you can't complain about them to the Advertising Standards Authority because "non-commercial" advertising doesn't come under their remit. I heard some of the posters have been vandalised in Dublin, and it's been raised in the Seanad. There was a bit in the IT about it, and Irish Central. Creepy holy fascist Niamh Ní Bhriain is behind them apparently.

Are they on polycarbonate, like the Yes to Jobs ones?

I have a stanley knife taped to a stick for the high ones and use them for all sorts of building projects - the roof of the henhouse and mudguards for the boat trailer, to name but two.

Polycarbonate sheet can be used for most purposes as an alternative to ply and it takes paint, which is essential with those obnoxious Youth Offence ones.

I was looking through my stock in the shed just now and discover my oldest one is a Green Party one from before their government moment of glory. I have plenty of FF/FG/LAB ones of smiling middle-aged men in business suits and if anyone asks, I always say I took them down after the election.

If you wear a hi-viz vest, people will assume you are a council worker and smile at you.

Larks. I just read some of the replies to the second link. AI gets attacked:

"My problem with Trinity is that it employs an Anti Catholic bigot like Ivana Bacik. After all she was one of the founders of Athjeist Ireland a really a bunch of Catholic Haters, as I pointed about its wineing and dining P Z Myers and his throwing of the Host in a bin with a nail stuck through it."

Fun and games for all.
