Last time I saw it Uncle Albert and Elsie Tanner were still on it.

You're so lucky.

It's like experiencing someone drive a sword through your eyeballs and rub in the salt and vinegar... except more painful.

Bush was considering it over water boarding but couldn't convince anyone it was anything less than torture.

I knew one Irish plumber in his 40ties who was claiming that because of his wife he involuntarily needs to watch coronation street. One time when i did some small work at his place it turned out that it is the other way around. She hated that crap :)

In the 90-ties when polish tv was flooded by new shows from the west (Before it was almost all Soviet production) we had lots of soap operas from southern America. I was in my early teens then and i knew that it's all crap but i still watched it. And I'm not ashamed of myself! (Maybe a little)

Best typo of the month. :)

Just fixed it now. And in polish it's also called "soap opera" (Opera mydlana) so now i'll go to sit in my box of shame for rest of the day.

I thought it was a perfect discription, you should not be ashamed. Instead feel proud to have found a new term discribing exactly my feelings about this type of television!!
Pope says atheists pick & choose their morals. Correct. Today I will be frowning on child abuse & not having a problem with homosexuality.
