I'm listening to an audio book of this at the moment. It's really very good. I'm surprised I haven't come accross it before. It's an anthology of bits & pieces (articles, essays. introductions) by Douglas Adams with an introduction by Stephen Fry & Richard Dawkins.

In an article about scuba diving in Australia he talks about the amazing variety, shapes, sizes and colours of the fish on the coral reefs. He then says that if he wasn't an atheist he'd be a catholic because if evolution didn't create these wonderful creatures it had to have been an Italian.

He's such a joy.

I read that when it came out – A pity that it was an unfinished work – lots of nice articles and then the uncompleted book. Douglas Adams wasn’t sure if it would work as a Dirk Gently or Hitchhikes book. I’d vote for a Dirk Gently.
