"KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice":

From
wiki:
Joseph Kony (born 1961 in Odek, Uganda) is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda. The LRA say that God has sent spirits to communicate this mission directly to Kony

Here's another critique, this time by Christopher Hitchens in Vanity Fair, who spent time with the victims of Kony:

...he was spared from being made into a concubine or a sex slave, because the L.R.A. doesn't tolerate that kind of thing for boys. It is, after all, "faith-based." Excuse me, but it does have its standards...
..."but he has found Bible justifications for killing witches, for killing pigs because of the story of the Gadarene swine, and for killing people because god did the same with Noah's flood and Sodom and Gomorrah." Nice to know that he is immersed in the Good Book...
Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins the movie by telling you how it ends. Well, I say there are some things we don't want to know. Important things. - Ned Flanders

Thanks for the links guys, there was a sudden flurry of KONY2012 posts on my Facebook feed yesterday and I hadn't heard much about it previously. I found parts of Hitch's article very difficult to read.
To be honest, when I first watched the video by Invisible Children I was quite confusion. The subject matter is obviously very serious but I thought their delivery was somewhat pandering in the way contemporary internet marketing seems to go these days. I wonder if the streets of Dublin will be lined with posters come April 20th.

Thanks for the link. It's an interesting blog. While it's clearly a good idea to highlight the evil deeds of this guy, I'd be concerned about the issue raised in relation to Invisible Children. If the claims made against them are true, is funding the Ugandan army agaisnt Kony really the way to go and is it something to which we should subscribe? the Ugandan army has hardly covered itself in glory in recent years... never mind in the era of Amin...
