District Justice Seamus Hughes has ordered a Donegal man to travel to Mayo and climb Croagh Patrick and do the four stations there. The defendant was up on a charge of insulting a garda in Donegal.

I heard about that, that's a bit silly!
Fair enough if a priest orders a mad to do it as penance from a confession but.... a judge???
This makes our legal system look bat shit

As far as I'm aware this judge is a former Fianna Fail (fada omitted deliberately) TD our councillor.
