Atheist Ireland is starting a new weekly email newsletter called Secular Sunday.

It will include details of events, activities, news items and other relevant topics.

The first issue, which you can read here, is devoted to a review of our main activities during 2011 and our plans for 2012.

If you would like to subscribe, just send an email to our editor Derek Walsh at secularsunday@atheist.ie.

I think it's really useful to keep these things summarised and it keeps people informed - great work, I'm sure the email took some time to put together.

Hah. It would be fun to steal the formatting of Alive! magazine and start sticking copies in random letter boxes unsolicited. Entirely unchanged formatting or anything, but with the A of Alive subtly changed to the AI formatting.

Why not at some future date, I think there is room/need for a secular paper maybe in collaboration with HAI. Alive is found in many of our public post-offices, I've even seen them in a Chinese in Macroom. But as newspapers are on the decline, what we could do is forward the email-newsletter onto others with the option to subscribe.

I get a GIY email-newsletter which I always read, so looking forward to subscribing/reading this one. -Well done.

I was in a local Centra yesterday, and somebody had spilled a carton of milk.

The shop staff soaked it up by covering it with some copies of Alive!

Just read SS2 on the homepage, as I usually go straight to the fourm, so I missed Michael's debate yesterday :( So I've just made a phone reminder to read this every Sunday.

Consider signing up for the email version. E-mail secularsunday@atheist.ie That way you won't miss any future events. I'm also looking into an RSS feed option, and an online calendar of all upcoming events. One of our biggest problems as an organisation is that members don't know what's going on, and Secular Sunday is just one step towards fixing that.
