Michael Nugent will be debating at UCD Law Society this evening, Tuesday Sep 25, on the motion "This house believes the Catholic church has become irrelevant". Other speakers will include Senator Ronan Mullen, Fr Brian McKevitt editor of Alive magazine, Rosemary Swords of Catholic leaders Network, and a speaker from the UCD LGBT Society. The debate starts at 7 pm in the Fitzgerald debating chamber in the new student centre.

Sorry I missed it.

On which side of the debate was Michael speaking? Will the LawSoc or someone post a podcast somewhere, I wonder?

(I would argue that, unfortunately, it is not irrelevant because it still has too much power - especially in "education"/indoctrination.)

I'd be interested in hearing if the editor of Alive! is as much of a loon in person as his newspaper suggests he is?
