I found this guy approach to the bible very informative – He’s a previously born again Christian who’s now an agnostic and a very serious New Testament Bible scholar. He is very inoffensive for those that don’t want to be looked down upon because they are religious. Have to say I was shocked by some of the stuff in the Gnostic Gospels. – Pretty sure that that would be blasphemous now. I’ve read four or more of his books
God's Problem
The Lost Gospel of Judas Iscariot
Jesus Interrupted.
Misquoting Jesus.
And some TTC lectures.
Ps what has happened to Michel Von Rijn? (from Lost Gospel of Judas Iscariot) Google reveals nothing past 2006.

I have read "Misquoting Jesus". I enjoyed it a lot. Its amazing how much of the bible has been mistranslated/misinterpreted and is still thought by some to be the divine word of god.

He has also contributed to many documentries dealing with the New Testament over the years. I must look up his other books on Amazon.
