Visiting KSA

Post by dscanlon » Wed Mar 27, 2013 11:21 pm

Apparently when applying for a visa for Saudi Arabia one is asked to state a religion.

Has anybody here any experience of writing "None", "Atheist", etc., and having their application approved?

You could try ringing this guy, attached to Enterprise Ireland, he'd probably know what's the best thing to do:
Enterprise Ireland,
Dublin-based staff servicing Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Region:
Peter Jackson Tel: +353-1-727-2909
Otherwise, there is an Irish Embassy:
Irish Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Embassy of Ireland in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Diplomatic Quarter
PO Box 94349
11693
City: Riyadh
Phone: +966 1 488 2300
Fax: + 966 1 488 0927
Website: http://www.embassyofireland.org.sa
Email: riyadhembassy@dfa.ie

There must be a reason they're called 'Diplomats' they should know the diplomatic thing to write - without you having to compromise your principles. Not sure what the Wahabi line is on apostates or 'infidels'. Are they all to be put to death, as is the common interpretation of the Prophet's words?

How about 'Humanist'?

Best of luck.
