It will be interesting to see if they turn up today.
If they don't, they are not reading the changing mood of the people and government.

The Sisters of Mercy have refused to attend

Apparantly they're appearing at an 80s music festival in Shropshire.

Congregations say Quinn meeting 'positive'
A number of the 18 congregations criticised in the Ryan Report have described today's meeting with the Minister for Education as positive.
What supprises me is:
Martin calls for apology from Vatican

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has said that the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eamon Gilmore, should demand the attendance in Ireland of the Vatican Secretary of State.

The call is to get answers to questions as regards the management of child abuse cases involving Catholic Church priests and clerics.

Speaking on Raidió na Gaeltachta, Mr Martin also said that the Vatican should apologise to this country for the church's mismanagement of clerical abuse cases

It's difficult to read between the lines and see what really happened.
"Congregations say Quinn meeting positive" could mean "We have that commie bastard where we want him now" or it could mean "We're rightly screwed now!"
I suppose it will become clearer in tomorrow's commentaries.

Jane and Michael are answering questions from the forum about AI's submission at 2 today. Good luck guys.
The church complains of persecution when it's not allowed to persecute.

Pope says atheists pick & choose their morals. Correct. Today I will be frowning on child abuse & not having a problem with homosexuality.
