Strange case in Cork !!
Mention of academic paper about bats prolonging sex by fellatio "offends" Catholic Professor,
The female lowers her head to lick the shaft or the base of the male's penis but does not lick the glans penis which has already penetrated the vagina. Males never withdrew their penis when it was licked by the mating partner. A positive relationship exists between the length of time that the female licked the male's penis during copulation and the duration of copulation. Furthermore, mating pairs spent significantly more time in copulation if the female licked her mate's penis than if fellatio was absent.
who then reports Dr Evans for sexual harassment and..
Despite the fact that external investigators concluded that Dr Evans was not guilty of harassment, Professor Murphy has imposed a two year period of intensive monitoring and counselling on him, which may result in his application for tenure being denied.
What a git

This is the same Dr. Dylan Evans who gave a talk for the UCC Atheist Society and turns up to a lot of their meetings and discussions.

It all depends on the way it was said. If someone is being factual about sex stuff, I’m not offended. If some one were insinuating something - I’d pick it up and might not like they way they said it.

This is not the scandal I had anticipated when I first read the thread title.

This might clarify the whole thing -its a letter from the Federation of University Teachers to Prof Murphy,in point 9 its clearly says ...
.... that a complainant in such a case did not exhibit any signs of “offence”
(indeed she laughed and asked for a copy of the article) and did not make any
effort at the time to communicate to the person showing the scientific article that
she was offended.
this bit is very interesting ...
On the one hand she seems to be complaining that Dr Evans was “manipulating”
her to establish himself in a good light with her husband. Yet on the other hand
she accuses Dr Evans of sexual harassment. Such a combination is surely
unlikely to say the least.

Do we know the name of the Woman in question? Only Dylan and the name of the Head are mentioned that I can see, not the "victim"

I think that her identity is deliberately left out for her own protection. There are always some well-intentioned numpties who might decide to have a go at her which would be both harassment and detrimental to getting this case reviewed.

(edit) In the pdf linked to here there is no mention of her name probably as it was not needed in this particular instance.
In the other docs her name has been blanked out which I think is appropriate if these documents are being put up for public reading.
