Ok munsterdevil. You are right. Sorry I misunderstood. As they say at NASA "copy that and concur". I am following the latest mission on the ISS and wish I was on board.munsterdevil wrote:Look mate, you are already wasting your time copying and pasting your exploits from Christian forums, and to say this site is for talking of "the stupidity of religion" is a bit narrow minded. Anyway my main point is that you are wasting your time on Christian sites, and equally here reporting on it, for as you can see not many are interested in it.eccles wrote:No, and I will no longer waste my time replying to your insults. I thought this Forum was one for friendly Atheists to discuss Atheism or the stupidity of Religion.

Re: Irish Catholic forum desends into madness
For anyone interested I have finally been banned from Irish Catholic's Forum. I brought it on myself, of course, but I did get genuine interest from a couple of member there in what I had to say, Hibernicus in particular. Read his remarks to me here:
http://irishcatholics.proboards.com/ind ... 494&page=4
If Hibernicus happens to drop in here, I would like to thank him for being tolerant towards me. I did not join Irish Catholics just to cause trouble. I am genuinely interested in what Roman Catholics are saying about the troubles in the Church and yet more changes to the Mass. I like to get both sides of the story. However I got tired of the views of the Roman Catholic members there.
Of course my views about Religion have not changed. I am more strongly Atheist than ever. It is only three weeks to the Global Atheist Convention in Melbourne, Australia and I can't wait to get there. I just hope I will be lucky and be able to talk with Richard Dawkins.

Bit of a contradiction there Eccles.eccles wrote:I am genuinely interested in what Roman Catholics are saying about the troubles in the Church and yet more changes to the Mass. I like to get both sides of the story. However I got tired of the views of the Roman Catholic members there.
Having never been a member of any church, I'm perhaps not the best person to comment. But it seems to me that if, as you say, you are a). "genuinely interested in what Roman Catholics are saying about the troubles in the Church" and b). "like to get both sides of the story", then frankly, you're going to have to listen to the views of Roman Catholics at some stage. Looks like you missed an opportunity.

I think that will be enough. I have achieved what I wanted, put a flea in the ear of some "Roaming Cattleticks" and looking at that thread on Irish Catholics I seem to have invoked some meaningful discussion. Some members realise that Atheists are not that bad after all.
Now I look forward to our Global Atheist Convention.

Re: Irish Catholic forum desends into madness
I had a look over there. You basically called people "idiots", "bloody brain dead", "Roaming Cattleticks" and "asshole bigoted ROMAN Catholics" in an attempt to get banned for abusive and trolling behavior. What atheists are still posting over there appear to be apologizing for your behavior and distancing themselves from it, while calling Hibernicus of all things "tolerant".
I am not sure what part of that you a) are proud of or b) think raises the profile of atheists as being "not so bad" in any way. Trust me, any behavior that makes someone like Hibernicus come across as tolerant in comparison is behavior you should be anything BUT proud of.
I can not say I am proud of being banned myself over there. However at least I can be proud of the reasons I was banned and that I stayed true to myself and civil discourse. My banning was due solely and wholly to the fact that Hibernicus told two whopping great lies about something I said and I stuck to my guns asking him to acknowledge the lies. He just could never do it, despite my ability to paste what I said and what he said I said beside each other repeatedly showing that one was the EXACT opposite of the other. The very notion of ever admitting he is wrong or withdrawing something he claimed is alien to him.
Mere hours after he attained the administrator position I was banned and he was going around claiming he never did it. Then days later he started claiming he had JUST done it, even though I no longer had an account that COULD be banned. You can not ban an account that no longer exists. Therefore we know for a fact he has told one more whopping great lie, and we can suspect heavily that his claim at not having banned me the first time was also a whopper.
He has since systematically removed posts which highlight his lies. That I am also proud of. With your posts however he can merely just leave them there. He has nothing to hide with you. Your banning was entirely justified and I, for one, am embarrassed by it.

Well said Noz.
By the way eccles why have you decided to post all your adventures on an Irish Atheist website? I'm not xenophobic and the more diversity we have here the better, but I'm just curious as to all the countries in the world you decided on Ireland....

Because I have Irish heritage om both my mother's and father's side - great-great grandparents. My father's were from Cork and Tippperary. Unfortunately I have not been to ireland. We, my parents and I have been to the UK twice, but my mother did not want to go to Ireland. She had some Irish aunts she hated.munsterdevil wrote:Well said Noz.

I love the Irish people, their culture, music dancing and have a lot of sympathy for them over the treatment they got from the English before the 1916 uprising amd the formation of the Irish Free State. The English tried to wipe out all the Irish culture and amost succeeded with the Gaelic Language. I'm glad it is getting a revival as is Welsh.
So I have Irish blood in me and I am proud of it.
I am beyond overseas travel now, so I doubt if I will ever see the Emerald Isle.

The catholics want to polish their image and suppress the accusations of child molesting, so they seem to want to fake interest in " Beautiful Escort Girls " and have a whole thread for that
I am not sure how long that thread will last, but I wrote them an answer all right !

I managed a Group: "Militant Atheist Materialists" on the now defunct MSN Groups. It got inundated by many "posts" like that. As soon as I saw them I deleted them, and that would be a lot sooner that 24 hours. As the Mods on "Irish Catholics" are would be Roman Catholics, they are probably illiterate
