Just flicking through the Irish channels, just seemed to be ads on except "Sunday service" made me think it's on for 40-ish minutes without an ad break, at half-time they could go for a quick break, not as if people at home are getting jesus-crackers.

Apart from football matches it must be the only show on screen that doesn't have an ad-break.

But then you get the possibility of some jarring adverts; If I was then marketing exec of Durex I would definitely try to get the pre-communion slot.

Maybe they should have product placement?

They should be done for false advertising at the very least.

If Sunday Mass was something that a significant number of people actually want to watch on tv, not only would they have ad breaks but TV3 would also be broadcasting a Sunday Mass.

I have a big problem with the licence payer being forced to pay for something that the licence payer doesn't want to watch.

They should at least broadcast it at a different time. The problem with broadcasting it on Sunday mornings is that the vast majority of the potential audience is out - they're at mass.

I don't actually have a huge issue with them broadcasting this - my grandmother used to watch it as she was virtually housebound towards the end of her life - but why do they have to keep making new ones? Can't they just repeat an old one instead of wasting time and money on filming every week?
