This story concerns non-religious soldiers who must listen while rabbis lecture them - and the rabbis are objecting to religious (Jewish) soldiers having to attend military ceremonies where there are women soldiers in the army choir, which apparently offends their gods.

I nominate Israel's chief rabbis for this one and for their incredible chutzpah.

The laws they are breaking were enacted to protect babies in buggies, though I guess god is more interested in modesty than the protection of innocent children as usual.

Totally harmless but silly all the same, can I nominate the girl I saw out running the other night wearing a headscarf and (of course) covered from head to toe? Needless to say she was sweating quite a bit, would allah or whoever not let her off while she's running?

On a related note, was at an amusement park in the UK recently, my wife saw a woman in a full burqa going down a waterslide with her child, it is one of the big regrets of my life that I missed that spectacle.

Reminds me of the day about 5 years ago i saw this obviously devout muslim family.....Man wearng only what could be described as sackcloth and sandals and woman in a full burka....they had numerous kids in tow. The amusing thing was that they were all eating ice cream cones and you should have seen the woman trying to eat here 99 through the burka :lol:

Lifting the veil just enough to nibble her ice cream without drawing the mad lust of all the men in Blanchardstown shopping centre.

As an avid photographer this is one of the images I have in my brain that I never managed to take with a camera because I didn't have it with me.

Saw this on RTE's Six o clock news (+1 min), didn't hear the religion aspect of the story, but when it was mentioned that Rihanna had to cover up, another presenter said "what a shame" there were plenty of laughter form the RTE crew.
