He recorded a song for the Jonathan Ross Christmas show called 'Woody Allen Jesus' and ITV bosses cut it from the show. Read his intelligent rant and listen to the song. It's really quite good and not terribly controversial. Are people that sensitive?

I e-mailed them. Of course it will do no good, but you can bet your ass religious folk would have contacted in droves if they had aired it.

Their e-mail address is viewerservices@itv.com. E-mail them and tell them how you feel about their censorship.

I didn't think it was that controversial, and it's not like any of the guests or audience reacted badly to it (or from what we could see).

I guess it's telling of the type of broadcasting ITV are all about. Along with their soaps, XFactor, I'm a has-been Celebrity get me out of here, etc. I don't expect too much from them.

I did actually watch that Jonathan Ross show when it aired, in fairness I really like his show. It does make me wonder what else gets cut.

Got a bullshit reply:

Quote:
Dear,

Thank you for your recent email regarding The Jonathan Ross Show.

We often make changes to programmes before transmission and on this occasion we felt that the song didn’t quite work editorially.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to contact us here at ITV.

If we can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

Stuart
ITV Viewer Services

Editorially?? The song was approved for air by the show's producers and lawyers. A boffin at the top of ITV took the decision to axe it. So it looks as though ITV programmes aren't trusted to have their own editorial control.

Tim Minchin - I can't stand him. What's with the eye shadow? He's like a poor man's Russell Brand.

I've never heard anything this moronic from Tim Minchin... http://www.newstatesman.com/religion/2011/04/richard-dawkins-br-god

I remember seeing that before. I couldn't actually get through it. Brand makes me laugh though - or at least he used to.

I read through the whole thing before I realized it was Brand. I thought Tim threw his intellect out the window and went back on almost everything he said.

Brand writes and speaks very well, this article represents and expresses his little quirks and edgy personality. I do like the guy on the whole. Brands position however can be summed up in one line "I think God exists beyond the current reach of science" i.e. we will possibly discover God in the future.

Brand here doesn't just assume that science and religion are compatible but that science is needed for religious revelation of God! Since his definition of God is poorly defined, it's difficult to see a conflict between a void and dynamic self-testing accumulative body of knowledge.

All he has really say is: "We can't rule out the existence of a God" but posits himself a pseudo theist who espouses ear friendly contradictions like "That the mystical will become physical".

I think Brand has mastered the art of waffling in an articulated way at best. He has a good grasp of the English language but I've never been overly impressed with what he has to say. I've seen him on tv/youtube a good bit over the passed year and I've come to find him so repetitive that he almost sounds scripted. He's a set of lovely adjectives and metaphors which he sprinkles about but it results in nothing more than the ramblings of an ego.

That's just my opinion and it's not that I dislike him, he can be kinda funny, but that's about it. I have much more time for Tim Minchin.
