I nearly forgot to start a thread for January. But the Spanish Bishop who says that it is essentially ok to rape women who have had an abortion reminded me pretty quickly.

I nominate Rick Santorum:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jan/04/history-of-rick-santorum-iowa?INTCMP=SRCH

Quote:
Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality.

Oh and if you have yet to Google 'Santorum', do it and look at the third result.

This is a little home grown beauty.

I thought this woman subscribed to my YT channel by mistake during the week, after watching a David O'Doherty video I posted last year. I guessed that she subbed from the video watch page without checking out my channel, because when I went to her channel I saw that she is subbed to the most bizarre collection of Catholic channels I've yet come across, and I think I'm her first atheist.
So I said 'Hi' and waited for her to spot her mistake. But, she's still subbed. So I just had a look at a few of her videos, and her latest is a jaw dropping beauty. Check it out for yourselves and drop her a line.
The video is called: Thurles Town // Voodoo (I shit you not)

After my comment on the video, I've been getting private messages from people asking me what I know about voodoo.

I've now apparently reported to the Thurles Gardai for stealing people's blood by means of voodoo. Strangely I haven't heard from them yet.

There's another group in Borrisoleigh that meet every week and drink blood.
When they can't get blood they use wine and claim that it is blood and then they all take a sip. Yech!

That report of Mufti Muhammad Hussein is a phoney, circulated by some very nasty anti-Muslim, white-supremacist groups. It has been removed by YouTube.

How about a nomination for the State of Pennsylvania, USA, for declaring 2012 "The Year of the Bible". The full nonsense is here: http://blogs.philadelphiaweekly.com/phi ... %2580%259d

Sir, – The insistance by European Cup Rugby that the Heineken Cup match between Munster and Ulster be played on Easter Sunday is an outrage (Sport, January 26th). The IRFU stands condemned for not supporting Ulster when the request was made to avoid a Sunday fixture for this match. Despite what the Ulster press officer says, a great many people will be forced to participate against their conscience. This is discriminatory and disgraceful. Island of saints and scholars? – Yours, etc,

It of course begs the question as to why supporters at least wouldn't boycott the match if they were so offended? It seems the IRFU knows their conscience more than Mr Sharpe.

Also, why are Ulster consciences more delicate than Munster ones?

Presumably because the Munster team isn't peppered with major god-botherers, or at least if it is they don't feel the need to wang on about it all the time.
