One of the big reasons I don't contribute directly is that you really don't know how your money is being spent. I suppose they will use the as another example of "Aggressive Secularism". Why should the RC have to pay tax like everyone else.

He is good for business, he writes this kind of thrash as provocatively as possible to earn readership for his employers. I'd rather just ignore him. Personally I would try to avoid discussing religion altogether. If you start about religion you will inevitably lose "as you are wrong and evil". If the discussion/argument comes up it is better that it is about privacy and a persons right to their opinion rather than the existence of a god and/or h...
