Re: That Poor Whale

Well it's dead now. http://www.thejournal.ie/baltimore-whale-died-560674-Aug2012/?utm_source=facebook_self&utm_medium=thejournal&utm_campaign=from_page The NPWS had decided not to take action to euthanase the animal and allow it to die naturally but the IWDG had taken steps this morning to try and f...

Re: That Poor Whale

I understand why they don't want to make any attempts to move it, but surely the alternative is not the let it suffer the prolonged pain and torment of leaving it to "die naturally". We wouldn't let a dog or a cat suffer like that.

Re: Irelands Greatest

Don't know if I missed something but whats the 'Irish populace list' It was a poll conducted by RTE in 2009. John Hume came into pole position and not a single scientist appeared in the list at all. But they did manage to find room for Bono, Stephen Gately, Phil Lynott, Roney Drew, Ronan Keating, R...

Re: Irelands Greatest

I'm guessing there should have been a link with that post :D In my humble opinion... no screw that, I will state this as an objective fact. Any list that does not include Robert Boyle in pole position, is nothing more than a fantasy drawn up by the pseduo-intelligencia who like to pretend that paint...

Re: Euthanasia

This article refers to euthanasia statistics from The Netherlands: http://www.therecord.com/iphone/opinion/article/754856--netherlands-euthanasia-statistics-should-appal-us I found the article a little brief on facts, only quoting basic figures from one year (1990) and no more. For example, the fol...

Re: Please present good reasons for philosophical naturalism

I agree with you here and I think it's an important point. Putting aside any sort of man-made, virtual intelligence, the only form of intelligence and indeed cognitive function that we know of has resulted from evolution. I'd say man made artificial intelligence has also resulted from evolution. Hu...

No, they don't. Zeitgeist and all of its sequels were nothing but enormous turd piles full of ignorance and unsubstantiated claims that have since been debunked. You do yourself, and the atheist movement in general, no favours by quoting it.

Re: Please present good reasons for philosophical naturalism

It's an idiotic request for three reasons. 1) You're by definition asking us to prove a negative. Nope. I am asking to provide positive evidence that naturalism is true. LMAO. You defined philisophical naturalism as that which "helds <sic>, that the natural world is all there exists". Asking to pro...

Re: Please present good reasons for philosophical naturalism

It's an idiotic request for three reasons. 1) You're by definition asking us to prove a negative. 2) You're demanding we do so with one hand tied behind our backs by insisting that only positive arguments can be used. 3) You're assuming that anyone here would claim to know with 100% certainty that o...

Please prove to me that you exist, but I won't allow the presentation of evidence or any form of argument. Proceed!
