Re: The lapsed atheist - the confessional thread

Yes I understand your situation. The only way around it I have found is to make certain things "out of bounds" to non-directly family members (i.e. your partner & kids are direct family members, everyone else is an outsider to some extent). For example you would not tolerate family members going thr...

Re: The lapsed atheist - the confessional thread

Ahhhhh relax, its not so bad...... I actually got married in Poland in the church (my wife was still sitting on the fence about religion at the time). I found out that I had to do confession! Twice! And it had to be documented by the priest to make it official and to make sure you are not cheating (...

Re: Schools to increase focus on literacy, maths

Git rid of Religion class? But how will we teach about Intelligent Falling and such without this? Physics education will be under such enormous pressure to explain gravity and will understandably turn to Mathematics to help explain. Since Mathematics alone cannot explain gravity/intelligent falling ...

Re: Participate in my research study on atheists

I won't take the survey because I only discovered this forum/website today. It looks like an interesting site and I look forward to browsing around on it. A lot of negative responses on this thread. Those of you who are commenting above are influencing others and biasing the results of the survey. ...

Re: Participate in my research study on atheists

Hi UCCResearcher. I had an open-minded go at doing your survey but gave up after about two pages as I found it had absolutely no relevance to me. It appears to be written for members of a secret society or cult. If you are sincere in your research, why not scrap it and write your own? Are you genui...

Re: Sunday Premium Payments

Normally if you work shift work you do not get anything extra for working Sunday unless it is actually overtime. Normally its just normal time....at least it was when I worked in Ireland 3.5 years ago. In Germany now (with the same job in the same company) and here we do get paid overtime for both S...

Re: stork theory - for psalm girl

As some of you know I have been for some time a strong believer in IF (Intelligent Falling) which I know to be true as it is backed up by evidence (similar to the above evidence). This is similar and having read it once I am convinced it is true. Stork theory is quite revolutionary and totally true....

Re: End of the World Again

I would also like to publicly renounce my deviant penchant for logic and reason which have corrupted my soul. I would like to join Feardorcha in apportioning blame on other people for leading me astray in the first place. It was not my fault.......it was the evildoers...... I fully accept that god l...

Re: Anti-virus software

The change is almost fully automatic and takes 30mins. Not like the bad old days of command line (and windows anti-virus)! 8)
