Re: Andrews opposed to extension of abuse inquiry

Its a bit like saying "yeah the Holocaust was horrible, but there is no point learning about it because we cant learn anything new anyway". Very disturbing.

Re: Anti-virus software

Yeah I remember the bad old days with all my Anti-virus nightmares. One alternative is to change your operating system altogether! I got so fed up with all that nonsense, Anti-virus, defragging, etc. and got so sick of spending money that I switched to linux (I had never used it before). That was se...

Re: Marijuana Legalization in Ireland

Interesting discussion. I have one question however, we have been fighting a war against drugs in Ireland for many years now. Presumably the war would be considered to be won if all illegal drugs were removed from the country but my question is this:- What would Ireland look like if the war on drugs...

Re: Holiday Ideas

Have you considered Ireland by any chance? I have spotted some discover ireland propaganda and if it is to be believed then Ireland is a great place to visit as long as you don't mind spending a few sheckles and having S.F.A. to show for it. http://www.discoverireland.com/int/ Look at the photos on ...

Re: New Constitution

Hmmm......I am not sure, a secular state is not an atheist state. I think people would be more open to the idea of this now in light of the changes in Irish society. Lets face it the Catholic Church has failed even bigger than the banks and people I am sure will not want to give the Bishops back the...

Re: Removing a child from the catholic church

No I am actually Irish, living in Dresden in Germany and my wife is Polish. The church in Poland is probably more corrupt and have more influence than in any other country in Europe. I did get married in the church there as my wife wanted to do the whole church thing. In Poland when you are getting ...

Re: Removing a child from the catholic church

Hi to all and thanks for your inputs so far. I will try to cover some of the questions raised. My wife she was an agnostic when our daughter was born (not any more) and she wanted to have our daughter baptized so she could make her own decisions later in life. My wife did not believe in the Christan...

Removing a child from the catholic church

I have left the Catholic Church last year by means of defection (although I am an atheist since I was 12 years old). My wife and I have decided that we no longer want our daughter to be a Catholic (or any other religion for that matter). I spoke with the bishop of the area about removing our daughte...
