Re: Is Sir Patrick Moore an Atheist?

I'd be very surprised if he wasn't. I watch it regularly and I can't remember ever hearing him use any suspect language. He never uses words like majesty, creation, design etc..

I can't say for sure though, but I would be surprised.

Re: Junior Certificate Religeous Education Exam

My local recycling centre keeps a section for books and DVD's that you can just take away with you. It's a great service but I don't know if it's common elsewhere. On a recent visit I picked up a copy of Religion For Living , the junior cert religious ed. textbook. It is, not surprisingly, about 90%...

Re: Richard Dawkins v Governor Perry

And here's a good rundown of Perry's prayer event and the effectively insane views of it's participants from Rachel Maddow of MSNBC:

Seriously, people end up in padded rooms for talking like this. In America they get elected...

Michael Voris finds little faith in Ireland's Catholics

This has put a spring in my step today. The Vortex, that uber conservative Catholic outlet has just visited our shores. Now, while Michael Voris claims that the Vortex is the place where 'Lies and falsehoods are trapped and exposed' at the start of each show, they normally tend to massage the facts ...

Well, you can only hope, can't you...

It could be the religious equivalent of getting Al Capone for tax evasion. :D

Re: Contraception "education" at the Knock Summer Festival

These people really should keep up with their leader. Pope Benny has already changed his tune on condoms: http://english.aljazeera.net/news/europe/2010/11/201011211338469339.html I think this is something the bishops haven't been too keen on passing along to their Irish congregations. They're caught...

Re: Films: Marjoe and Jesus Camp

On its way to you now. Only sent Marjoe though, sorry. Forgot all about Jesus Camp. No bother, Jesus Camp is accessible enough. But I'm really looking forward to this Marjoe flick. I'll track down the article for you, it'll give me an excuse to crawl around my mother's attic for an hour or two. The...

How about his ejit - Castlebar town councillor Frank Durcan who walked out of a meeting because there were no prayers. http://www.advertiser.ie/mayo/article/41166/durcan-walks-out-of-town-council-meeting-over-lack-of-prayer I think the four councillors who voted for the 'Our Father, Hail Mary and G...

Re: Films: Marjoe and Jesus Camp

Give me a shout if you want me to try and get you copies of these films as Marjoe is a tough one to find but worth the effort. I'd love to see that Marjoe film. I read an interview with him in a magazine back in the early 80's and I've never forgotten him. And I don't think I've heard his name ment...
