celibacy no longer part of Catholic church Pat kenny show

Heard Pat kenny's show on newstalk last week (Sep 12-15th ?), can't find any weblinks, but a priest on the panel was questioned on Celibacy.
The Priest said that there are married priests due to when Rev's & family moved to be Catholic church.
As I can't find any links I have to go by what I remenber I heard.
He said something like; Celebacy was a man made law, and celibacy due to married Revs that joined the church, priests marrying is no longer against the church.

The funny part is I saw Father Ted the other night "The Passion of Saint Tibulus" with Bishop Brennan and his son. Just shows how attitudes have chanced since the airing of the show and the real life storry that the show was baised on.

I thought that celibacy was one of the most archaic things the catholic church did. Behind closed doors I don't think many of them stuck to it anyway.
