Re: NUIG Society
Just a heads up on the progress and auspicous beginnings of the society. we've just had soc's day here in the NUIG and we have managed to sign up 300 members!!! Our society name is the Skeptic society. Maybe it was an attempt not to deter borderline joinees by not calling it an atheist soc but we wanted to encompass a wide range of topics that have no fundamental scientific rationale for their status.... e.g. alternate medicine, fortune tellers etc etc.
All in all there was a pretty warm reception of this society with many saying that we have occupied a 'niche' that was long overdue in filling. We will keep an update on any progress as time goes on, but initial signs are vproving to be very positive.

Re: NUIG Society
That's excellent news Niall, congrats to all involved. The future certainly bodes well for non-religious student groups in this country.niallllll wrote:Just a heads up on the progress and auspicous beginnings of the society. we've just had soc's day here in the NUIG and we have managed to sign up 300 members!!!
